What is Abhyanga?
Abhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic full body massage
performed with warm herbal oils. It is one of the most important therapies in Panchakarma
and daily Ayurvedic lifestyle (Dinacharya). In this therapy, medicated
oil is applied to the entire body with gentle and rhythmic strokes to nourish
body tissues, improve circulation, and balance the Vata Dosha.
According to
Ayurveda, Abhyanga helps remove accumulated toxins (Ama) from
the body, improves the functioning of muscles and joints, and promotes overall
physical and mental wellbeing. Regular Abhyanga therapy keeps the body strong,
flexible, and rejuvenated.
