GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) – Ayurvedic Treatment

What is GERD?

GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) is a chronic digestive disorder in which stomach acid frequently flows back into the oesophagus, causing irritation and discomfort. This condition often leads to symptoms such as heartburn, acid reflux, chest discomfort, and sour belching.

In Ayurveda, GERD is commonly correlated with Amlapitta, a condition caused by the aggravation of Pitta Dosha along with impaired digestive fire (Agni). Improper diet, irregular eating habits, stress, and the accumulation of toxins (Ama) can disturb digestion and increase acidity in the stomach.

At Nilkanth Ayurveda and Panchakarma Center, GERD is treated using a holistic Ayurvedic approach that focuses on balancing Pitta Dosha, improving digestion, detoxifying the body, and preventing recurrence of acid reflux.
